Is an inclusive social enterprise and resource centre located on Knowsley Road in Bootle. The service complements other community facilities:-
-
• Social Clubs for disadvantaged groups >
-
• The development & operation of a café to provide catering skills & business experience
-
• The provision of office space for lease to agencies which support vulnerable people
-
• The introduction of retail opportunities
Engagement with the local community is one of our fundamental objectives and we would be pleased to hear from individuals or groups within the community who wish to take advantage of the facilities or of our services. We expect that over 27 000 people will use the improved facilities, including:
-
• Local residents, adults and children: who are able to use the building to run activities themselves or to attend activities provided by other organisations
-
• People with learning disabilities and mental health problems in Bootle and South Sefton
-
• Local residents who use the CAB and Sefton Choices
-
• Older People
The organisations that will benefit from the improved facilities are:
-
• Bootle Citizens Advice Bureau
-
• Sefton Choices (Counselling)
-
• First Initiatives
-
• People First Merseyside
We also intend to involve more stakeholders, particularly local residents and community members. With the help of development funds we are keen to hold some open consultative events and seek to engage more local people in the development of the project through voluntary and community groups.
